This turned out sadder and more serious than I intended... :(
4:00 PM – Capturing a Drifloon is usually more difficult. Normally, the purple balloon Pokémon only appear on Fridays, but after much research I perfected a recipe—a recipe with a flavor and blend so unique and perfect it attracts Drifloons any day of the week, any hour of the day.
Pocketing his pen the huge man named Butler closed his notebook. A notebook which was decorated with butterfly stickers on a pink background and read ‘Journal’. It was a journal, damn it. Not a diary! It was a MANLY journal too! Butler took out his PokéBlock case and spread some small yellow cubes on the ground before hurrying to hide behind a tree. And by tree, I mean several trees, because no one tree could hide this man.
Before too long what looked like a purple cloud headed towards the clearing. Drifloons began to float down from the ‘cloud’ of Pokémon and started to pick up and nibble on the PokéBlocks, some sharing and some keeping them selfishly. That was the easy part…now to capture a Floon.
6:00 PM – Floon captured. I think it might be a rare one, the colours are all wrong. This one is yellow and blue instead of purple and yellow. I really hope Light likes it!
8:00 PM – Arrived at work. Floon seems relatively happy, bouncing around and taking in all the people that are already arriving this early. Giovanni’s sure is popular!
8:15 PM – Light is late for work.
8:30 PM – Getting worried.
8:40 PM – Oh! Light’s here! In the book, the man drew a smiley face as Light headed backstage.
9:30 PM – Watching Light on stage. He really is amazing. It’s no wonder he gets so much money in tips, he The rest was blotted out.
9:45 PM – Someone spilled their drink on me when we were throwing him out…I think he blotched up some of the pages of my dai—uh, Journal. Frowny face.
11:00 PM – Floon is, as Danny would say, a felonious fiend. Somehow a Driftloon is able to make the most pitiful, tearful puppy dog eyes. Ended up giving it my dinner.
11:15 PM – Floon peed on me.
11:40 PM – Finally managed to get that Floon pee smell off my shirt collar.
12:10 PM – Informed Light that I brought him a Floon as a token of my love.
12:12 PM – As usual, I was rejected… As usual I try not to show that I’m hurt as I go and stand by the door again. It’s okay, though. I know one day he’ll love me back.
Butler closed his journal as he finished rereading over the night’s events, glancing at the time. Jeez, it was late, or technically, really early. He should have clocked out almost an hour ago, but even if he had noticed what time it was, he wouldn’t have. Butler didn’t like leaving before Light did. Butler always wanted to make sure the brunette left Giovanni’s safely. Speaking of the brunette…he watched as Light hopped down from his barstool, ending his conversation with, “Look at the time, Shnitzel. You should probably head home, too.”
The brunette seemed surprised to see that Butler was still there. “Oh, hey big guy. Why didn’t you head home already?” Like everyone else, Light spoke to Butler in a gently condescending tone, like one someone would use on a child. Butler didn’t mind though, he never did. It almost made Light sound like he cared about Butler when he talked like that. The large man merely shrugged. The brunette frowned but shrugged as well, patting Butler gently on the arm before walking past him and stepping out into the cold, early morning to head home. “See you tonight, then!” Light waved over his shoulder as he walked away from the building.
And the next night, and the next night, and the next night, and the next night…
End.
